02 Unapologetically Me

To be selfish is to survive. To be selfish is to breathe. To be selfish is to live.
In a world that is always demanding our conformity, where compassion is turned into emotional blackmail, where everything is judged by social norms, we ask ourselves—what if, just this time, you chose yourself?
“I Wanna Be a Selfish Man” is not an act of rebellion; it is an act of claiming back. We created an environment in an interactive exhibit in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou where individuals were confronted with the voices haunting them—the guilt-tripping parents, the judgmental peers, the pressure of the unseen expectations.
Each room, a story. Every step, a struggle. Every moment, a choice.
From tearing apart scribbled accusations on sticky notes to actually having to push through grasping fingers reaching out to clutch onto their movements, participants felt the burden of responsibility—and the exhilaration of freedom. The final moment wasn't one of rebellion, however, but one of coming back to self.
The event not just sparked discussions; it sparked a movement. It made a point that it is not a sin to be "selfish," but a necessity.
What would it be like to, just for one second, prioritize yourself?
